To control the speed Click on the speed bar, drag upwards to increase the speed and drag downward to decrease the speed.
(This can also be controlled with the help of Up and Down arrow key, but first click on the speed bar)

After clicking on the speed bar, arrow keys can not be used to control the plane direction therefore
click anywhere on the screen
to again control the plane from arrow keys;
